Joshua W. Hamilton of Cherry Creek recently graduated the United States Marine Corps Basic Training. Hamilton is a 2009 graduate of Pine Valley Central School. He is the son of John and Tina Hamilton of Cherry Creek and the grandson of Roger and Anne Samuelson of South Dayton.
Hamilton has just completed 13 rigorous weeks of Marine Corps Basic Training. Graduates of Marine Corps Basic Training have been found to be physically, mentally and morally qualified to become Marines. These new Marines will be getting to come home for 10 days off and to prepare for the rest of their training before entering the Fleet Marine Force. Hamilton has made it through and graduated Basic Training in Parris Island, S.C., the longest of all the DOD services. He possesses the qualities and compassion that have compelled him to make the safety and freedom of his community his personal responsibility.
