All Souls' Day requiem
Upcoming events at the St. John the Baptist (Episcopal) Church include the dedication and blessing of an outdoor cross on Sunday, prior to the 11 a.m. service.
On Wednesday, Nov. 2, All Souls' Day, a requiem Eucharist will be held at 6 p.m. with the Rt. Rev. R. William Franklin officiating. On Sunday, weather permitting, the congregation will gather on the Lark Street side of the church for the dedication. In order to have the church identifiable, Rodney Geiben has donated a 16' cross adorned with an Episcopal shield, in memory of his deceased uncle, Charles Montfort. On All Souls' Day, a day set aside to remember the decreased, Bishop Franklin, will celebrate the Eucharist, in remembrance of the departed. A reception will be held in the parish hall following the service. The Rev. Yvonne Fancher and the Rev. Helen Sam, as well as the congregation of St. John's, invite all to attend.
Bishop to speak Sunday
CASSADAGA - Bishop James Lagona, DD, JD is the featured guest speaker at the monthly service of Universal Unity of Spirit in Cassadaga. His topic will be "The Harvest is Plenty as We Come Into The Fields." The Sunday service begins at 1 p.m., with a healing service, followed by the lecture and refreshments and fellowship. Church plans dinner
An election night chili dinner will be held Tuesday, Nov. 8, at Dunkirk First United Methodist Church, Sixth Street and Washington Avenue, Dunkirk, from 4 to 6 p.m. For $5, the meal will include chili, a corn muffin and dessert. Call 366-2230 for more information. Take-outs are available.
Christmas craft show
MAYVILLE - A Christmas craft show will be held at Mayville Methodist Church, 81 S. Erie St., Friday, Nov. 4, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Crafts and baked good will be available. The luncheon is served from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., which will be homemade soup, sloppy joes and pie. There is plenty of parking and the church is handicap accessible.

LILY DALE - Edward Williams will be the guest speaker at the Church of the Living Spirit's Sunday service at 10:30 a.m.
Family Movie Night
BROCTON - The community is invited to attend Family Movie Night At Harvest Chapel West. The church will be showing a full-length family friendly movie in the main auditorium on Friday, Nov. 4, at 7 p.m. Admission is free and free popcorn will be served. This movie is rated PG. On Sunday at the 10:30 a.m. worship service, St. Paul Lutheran Church at 334 Temple St., Fredonia, will participate in a Reformation Service led by the Rev. William J. Novack. The Ladies Service Guild is sponsoring a dinner featuring German cuisine including desserts following the service. The community is invited to attend the church service and be guests at the dinner in the fellowship hall.
Fall rummage sale
The Trinity Episcopal Church is holding a fall rummage sale on Friday, Nov. 4, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 5, from 9 a.m. to noon. It will be held in Garland Hall, 11 Day St., Fredonia; the entrance is at the back of Trinity Episcopal Church. This rummage sale has a wide variety of items, with something for everyone. The event is sponsored by the Episcopal Church Women (ECW). On Saturday at 11 a.m., there is a bag sale - all you can fit in a provided bag for a set price.
