The OBSERVER

HAMBURG - Thanks to the generosity of community leaders and friends of Immaculata Academy, the 19th Mater Christi Award Gala raised $85,000 to benefit Academy students through scholarships and tuition assistance.

Over 300 community leaders, alumnae and friends attended the event, held Oct. 19 at Michael's Banquet Facility, which honored those whose lives exemplify the mission of the Academy by serving their communities as instruments of positive change. The honorees, Patricia Maxwell '78, Erie County Family Court judge; Paul and Susan Santandreu, frequent contributors to multiple WNY initiatives; and David Zapfel, Executive Director of Gerard Place Housing Development Fund Company, Inc., have shown outstanding personal commitment and contribution to Catholic education and the community.

"This event really benefits every single student at Immaculata Academy, and we're so thankful people are so generous in giving," said Suzanne Walker, Immaculata Academy's chief advancement officer.
