Mr. and Mrs. David (Melissa) Wood

Melissa Weigle of Fredonia and David Wood of Ft. Benning, Ga., were united in marriage on Jan. 8, 2011, at the First United Methodist Church of Fredonia. The Rev. Steve Wiggers officiated the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Tim and Penny Weigle of Fredonia. The groom is the son of Martha and David White of Apollo Beach, Fla., and Susan and the late Richard Wood of San Antonio, Texas.

The bride was escorted by her father. She wore a self-designed dress made of sparkling white organza and tied with a royal blue satin sash with a matching chapel length veil that was sewn by Iris Miller of The Bridal Shop. She carried a bouquet of white gardenias, blue roses and red carnations.

Matron of honor Emma Williams of Rochester, sister of the bride, was also the soloist, accompanied by Barb Faxlanger, organist. Robyn Burrell of Virginia Beach, Va., friend of the bride was also a matron of honor. They wore floor-length royal blue dresses with silver sashes. Bridesmaids were Emily Lambert of Rochester, friend of the bride, and sisters of the groom Stacey Lyons and Erika Binkley of Columbus, Ohio. They wore floor-length red satin dresses with silver sashes. They carried bouquets of red and blue roses, with white carnations, accented with silver trim.

The best man was Philip Pieper of Columbus, Ohio, childhood friend of the groom. Groomsmen were Thomas and Cullen Daniel, brothers of the groom; Seth Lyons, brother-in-law of the groom; and Jack Weigle of Fredonia, brother of the bride. Ushers were Barry Hargett, brother of the groom; Matthias Williams, brother-in-law of the bride; and Kyle White, brother of the groom.

A reception was held at Shorewood Country Club.

The bride graduated from Fredonia High School and St. Bonaventure University with an M.B.A. in accounting. She is a CPA employed with AFLAC in Columbus, Ga.

The groom graduated from Dublin High School and has been enlisted in the U.S. Army since 2000.

The couple is currently stationed at Ft. Benning, Ga.
