The 1891 Fredonia Opera House will screen the feature length family comedy "Yogi Bear" on Friday, Nov. 11, at 7 p.m. Sponsored by the Lily Dale Assembly as part of Family Night at the Movies, admission to the film is free.
Family Night at the Movies generally features films based on or that inspire books for children. The series was developed as a way for adults to share the excitement of reading and great family entertainment with the children in their lives. The Book Nook has donated several books, which will be given away in a drawing before the film.
Everyone's favorite pic-a-nic basket-stealing bear brings his meal-mooching ways to movies in this live-action/CG-animated adventure starring Dan Aykroyd as the voice of Jellystone Park's famed troublemaker, Yogi Bear, and Justin Timberlake as his faithful pal, Boo Boo. In "Yogi Bear," Jellystone has been losing business, so conniving Mayor Brown has decided to shut it down and sell the land. Faced with the loss of his home, Yogi must prove he really is "smarter than the average bear" as he and Boo Boo join forces with Ranger Smith to find a way to save the park from closing forever. Anna Faris, Tom Cavanaugh and Andrew Daly costar in this wonderful new incarnation of Hanna-Barbera's classic cartoon. Rated PG for some mild rude humor, "Yogi Bear" runs 80 minutes.
Free admission tickets are available only at the door on the night of the show. Seating is limited to 400; and patrons are reminded that there is no food or drink allowed in the Opera House and that all children must be accompanied by an adult.
