Robert K. Miller

Robert K. "Bob" Miller, 66, of East Main Road, Brocton died Thursday (Nov. 17, 2011) at his home with his family at his side.

He was born Jan. 19, 1945 , the son of the late Arthur "Bud" and Virginia "Ginny" (Fisk) Miller of Brocton.

A Brocton area resident most of his life, Bob operated Miller and Sons Construction of Brocton for many years.

He was actively involved as a 45-year member of the Brocton Fire Department where he was past fire chief and current treasurer for more than 20 years. He also was a former EMT member.

Bob served one term on the Brocton Central School Board of Education. He was the head coach for midget football for several years and coached junior

varisty football at Brocton Central School. He also coached Little League and Babe Ruth baseball. He was a former member of the Brocton/ Portland JayCees.

A U.S. Army veteran serving in Korea, he was an active member of the Brocton American Legion Post 434. As a dedicated member and veteran, he

contributed and donated much time and effort to the Moving Wall Event held at the Brocton American Legion.

Survivors include his wife, Linda (Remington) Miller, whom he married July 15, 1967; three sons, Roger (Krystal) Miller of Westfield, Ryan (Jessica)

Miller of Portland and Robert (Danielle) Miller of Otto, NY; one daughter, Shelli Miller Pryll of Portland; 10 grandchildren; four brothers, David (Trina) Miller of Brocton, Dale Miller of Florida, Gary Miller of Brocton and Arthur (Sandy) Miller; and 41 nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his sister-in-law, Linda Miller.

Funeral services will be held Monday, Nov. 21 at 10:30 a.m. from St. Dominic Church of Brocton, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by

the Rev. Joseph Walter. Military services will be conducted by the American Legion Post 434. Interment will follow at the Portland Evergreen Cemetery.

Friends are invited to call at the Morse Funeral Home of Brocton on Saturday, November 19 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and Sunday from 1:00-3:00 p.m. and

7:00-9:00 p.m. In honor of Bob's strong commitment to the community, in lieu of flowers, please make any donations to the Brocton Fire Department or Portland Fire Department, Brocton Booster Club or any local church of your faith.
