Nursery School celebrates its 47th year

November 19, 2011
The OBSERVER

The Fredonia Baptist Church Christian Nursery School began its 47th consecutive year of teaching preschoolers under the guidance of Karen Tramuta and Jane Wright.

September was spent getting acquainted and settling into a routine. October's theme was fire safety. The expertise of Tony Thomas, firefighter from the Dunkirk Fire Department, emphasized safety in the home, a safe exit and how to properly call for help. The children were given gift bags full of at-home activities. The Fredonia Fire Department brought Sparky's House and the children practiced fire safety in the home. These important concepts were reinforced through lessons, music and art projects.

Each month the children collect items for the Rural Ministry Food Pantry. During the month of November the students continue to learn about caring and sharing by taking part in Operation Christmas Child. The children are becoming aware of the world around them and learning to thank God for the blessings in their lives.
