The 2011 85th annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City will feature a performance by more than 700 dance team members representing the top All-American Dancers in the United States.
Mariah Wojciechowski of Fredonia will be one of the enthusiastic performers that will take part in this American tradition. Wojciechowski has been selected as a National Dance All-American for the past five years and as her talents and skills have advanced so have her performance opportunities.
Performers for the parade received a DVD in October of the dance routine they will be performing. Each dancer is responsible for learning the basic routine before arriving in New York City. The group will spend the week before Thanksgiving in NYC rehearsing for the performance and working on formations, kicklines and stunts to be incorporated into the basic routine. In addition to dance rehearsals, the group will also visit tourist sites in the city and attend a performance by the Radio City Rockettes and a Broadway musical.
