Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence and Kelly (Docyk) Chaffee

Kelly Jean Docyk and Lawrence John Chaffee, both of Dunkirk, were united in marriage on Sept. 3, 2011, at 6 p.m. at Holy Trinity R.C. Church in Dunkirk. The double-ring ceremony was officiated by Father Joe Zalacca of Holy Trinity R.C. Church. Evonne Hennebery was the wedding soloist and organist.

The bride is the daughter of Peter Docyk of Patchogue, N.Y., and Barbara Docyk-Boettcher of Dunkirk. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Larry and Sue Chaffee of Dunkirk.

The bride was escorted by her father. She wore a soft white organza A-line gown with draped pickup bottom. The dress had a sweetheart neckline and was worn with a black bow sash. The bride wore a fingertip tulle veil for the ceremony and changed into a feather hairpiece for the reception. She carried a bouquet of white Georgia roses, purple calla lilies, and white and purple feathers, wrapped with a black satin handle and a purple rosary blessed by the Pope in Italy.

Serving as maid of honor was Elizabeth Rose Boettcher, sister of the bride. She wore a pewter strapless satin knee-length dress with black bow sash and black satin heels. Bridesmaids included Cindy Bohm of Hoboken, N.J., cousin of the bride; Lisa Boyle of Wantagh, N.Y., sister of the groom; Angela King of Dunkirk, friend of the bride; and Emily Chaffee of Dunkirk, sister of the groom. Bridesmaids wore black strapless satin knee-length dresses with pewter bow sashes and black satin shoes. The bridal party carried bouquets of white Georgia roses, purple calla lilies and white feathers. The flower girl was Emma Fiebelkorn of Wantagh, niece of the groom.

Serving as best man was Steve Kuzdale of Dunkirk, friend of the groom. Groomsmen included Gib Snyder III of Dunkirk, friend of the groom; Fritz Boettcher II of Dunkirk, brother of the bride; Chad Fiebelkorn of Dunkirk, friend of the groom; and Sergei Boettcher of Dunkirk, brother of the bride.

A cocktail hour and formal dinner reception were held in the Bayside Room at the Clarion Hotel in Dunkirk, with 120 guests in attendance.

The bride is a 1997 graduate of Dunkirk High School. She is a 2003 graduate of SUNY Buffalo State College and the Fashion Institute of Technology, both with degrees in fashion merchandising. She is currently taking time off from her career in merchandise planning.

The groom is a 2001 graduate of Dunkirk High School. He currently works in management for the Home Depot in Dunkirk.

The couple spent two weeks in Hawaii, visiting Oahu, Kauai and Maui. They currently reside in Dunkirk.
