Cynthia Susan Griffis and James Darren Ellman were united in marriage on Aug. 27, 2011, at 3 p.m. at Shorewood Country Club. The double-ring ceremony was performed by Judge David Prince.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James R. Lewetzki of Dunkirk. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. James V. Ellman of Dunkirk.
The bride was escorted by her father. Marissa Griffis, friend of the bride, served as the maid of honor. Bridemaids were Cheryl Thomas, Laura Lazarczyk and Julie Fedyszyn, all friends of the bride. Hannah Ellman, niece of the groom, served as a junior bridemaid.

Todd Ellman, brother of the groom, served as the best man. Groomsmen included Scott Ellman and Chad Ellman, brothers of the groom, and Tony Thomas, friend of the groom. Joshua Ellman, son of the groom, served as a junior groomsman. Andrew Ellman, nephew of the groom, served as the ring bearer.
A reception was held at Shorewood Country Club.
The bride is a 1987 graduate of Dunkirk High School. She is employed by Mitchell International out of San Diego, Calif.
The groom is a 1986 graduate of Dunkirk High School. He graduated from NYS Academy of Fire Science in 2007. He is employed by the City of Dunkirk as a professional firefighter and is co-owner of Ellman's Garage in Dunkirk.
The couple resides in Dunkirk.
