WESTFIELD - On a monthly basis, Westfield Middle School honors one student at each grade level as the Student of the Month. Teachers and staff had the opportunity to nominate one student who they believed met the following criteria: Follows Westfield's Rules of Respect for staff and peers; Shows outstanding effort and improvement or shows achievement and consistent high scores on tests, quizzes and projects; prepared daily to participate in all classes; serves as a positive role model for peers; and demonstrates a positive attitude and good citizenship.
Three students were selected as a Student of the Month for the month of October. The sixth-grade recipient is Alexis Auffhammer. In school, Alexis enjoys her math class the most. In her spare time, she enjoys bowling with family and friends, and also in a league. In the future, she hopes to go to college and become a teacher.
Katia Grafton received this honor for the seventh grade. In school, she enjoys her social studies class, especially learning about American History. As a hobby, she enjoys reading anytime she has a spare moment. One goal she has for the future is to become a graphic designer so she can combine her art and computer skills.
At the eighth grade level, Meghan Bodenmiller received this award. In school, she enjoys her language arts class, as she loves to read and write. Outside of the classroom, Meghan enjoys playing soccer along with the rest of her family. In the future she hopes to do well in high school and go to college to be an elementary teacher.
