I am a resident at the Chautauqua County Home and I have a little story to tell you about what happened to me a few months ago.
I was taken to Buffalo a few months ago because I was very ill. After my ordeal I was transported back to the Chautauqua County Home. Upon my arrival, as I was being brought in, one of the EMTs transporting me said, "Wow, this is your County Home?"
Proudly I said, "Yes."
He kept saying, "I can't believe this is a County Home."
Everyone was working hard and every employee said hello to him. That's the way it is here at the Chautauqua County Home.
Quality care, wonderful people working here and pride in what is done here. If this place is sold, we will turn into a different type of home. Please think of that, life here for most of the residents is all they have. When you are taken care of with pride and a smile that makes us smile. We can't lose that.
