SILVER CREEK - The Silver Creek Central Middle School announce the Students of the Month for October. The students were selected based on the following criteria: strong work ethic, dependability, helpfulness, respectfulness and cooperation with others.
The sixth-grade recipients are Sean Marchant and Breanna Dye. Sean is the son of Joe and Pam Marchant of Silver Creek. Within school, he sings in the chorus, plays the trumpet in band and is a member of the yearbook club, the broadcast club and the technology club. Outside of school, he participates in the Chautauqua Children's Chorale, is a member of the United Angels Youth Group, and takes golf lessons. His favorite activities include spending time with friends and sledding. His goal is to one day become a meteorologist.
Breanna is the daughter of Kelly and Susan Dye of Silver Creek. Within school, she sings in chorus and plays the clarinet in band. Outside of school, she participates in an orchestra at her church and takes piano lessons. Her favorite activities include reading, taking walks and playing the piano. She is interested in one day becoming a kindergarten or first grade teacher.
The seventh grade recipients are Brandon Birner and Jordan Gabel. Brandon is the son of Greg and Beth Birner of Silver Creek. Within school, he participates on the soccer team and plays the baritone in band. He has also been an All County band participant twice. Outside of school, he participates on an indoor soccer league in the winter and in a youth soccer program in the summer. His favorite activities include camping with his family, hiking at Allegany State Park, and playing soccer. He is interested in one day entering a sports related field.
Jordan is the daughter of David and Robin Gabel of Silver Creek. Within school, she sings in chorus. Outside of school, she takes dance and cheerleading lessons and is involved with the Girl Scouts. Her favorite activity is dancing. Her goal is to become a dentist.
The eighth grade recipients are Dakota Brock and Kira Parker. Dakota is the son of Roberta Brock and Kevin Davrah of Silver Creek. Dakota's favorite subject in school is math. Outside of school, his favorite activities include playing video games and playing football. His goal is to one day join the Air Force.
Kira is the daughter of Gregory Parker of Irving and Kim Cullinan. Within school, she participates on the basketball team and plays percussion in band. Outside of school, she participates on a lacrosse team and takes dance lessons. Her favorite activities include riding four wheelers and playing lacrosse and basketball. She is interested in one day becoming a lawyer or a police officer.
