New Year's Day celebration to be held at Universal Unity of Spirit.

CASSADAGA - On Jan 1, join members and friends of Universal Unity of Spirit for the "Burning Bowl" service, facilitated by Stephanie Turachak.

Bring any memories of the past year that you wish to release or transform and prepare to make room for the positive "new thoughts and "things" that you need and want as part of your life in 2012.

It's an interesting process made enjoyable by the participants' willingness to change. Healing service begins at 1 p.m. and the "Burning Bowl" service begins at 1:30 p.m. followed by refreshments and fellowship at 89 N. Main St. (Rt. 60) Cassadaga.

Bowl-burning ceremony set

LILY DALE - The Church of the Living Spirit, located at Assembly Hall, Cleveland Avenue, Lily Dale, will hold a special "Bowl-Burning Ceremony" and service at 10:30 a.m, conducted by the Rev. Ron Skowronski.

Those attending will be invited to note on small slips of paper, their negative actions, feelings and memories linked to the "old year," - all to be burned in a large bowl symbolically freeing participants from the old handicaps, allowing them to enter the New Year with new productive thoughts and plans.
