The Dunkirk Recreation Center at the Chautauqua County Fairgrounds will offer winter programs, some of which are under way.
Adult AM Walking from 7:30 to 10 a.m. weekdays; cost 50 cents. Adult Soccer from 6 to 9 p.m. Mondays; cost $2 per session. Birthday party rentals are available on Saturday afternoons. Team and group rental time is also available.
There are youth programs available as well.
Tiny Tot Playtime runs from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesdays and Fridays at $1 per session.
The Recreation Depart-ment and the Dunkirk School District (21st Century Grant) are teaming up to offer an indoor youth soccer program. The program starts next week and is geared toward students in grades K through 12. It will be held at the Recreation Center. This program will be a fun way to learn the game with instruction and organized game play. The program director will be Janey Wagner. Times and dates are as follows: Grades K-1-2 on Mondays from 4 to 5 p.m. Grades 3-4-5 on Mondays from 5 to 6 p.m.
There is no cost for Dunkirk public school students due to the grant. A $25 fee will be charged to non-city residents and city students who do not attend Dunkirk public schools.
Middle School Soccer runs Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5 to 6:15 p.m. while High School Soccer runs Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. These programs are also covered under the grant for Dunkirk public school students with others required to pay the $25 fee.
