YMCA Camp Onyahsa plans winter event

January 12, 2012
The OBSERVER

YMCA Camp Onyahsa will offer its first overnighter of the 2012 season on Jan. 21-22 for youth ages 7-13. This weekend camp program runs from 10 a.m. Saturday to 1:30 p.m. Sunday. Camp Onyahsa has made attending one of these programs more affordable for families by lowering the cost; only $35 for Y members and $40 for potential members. The camp is also offering other discounts including "Bring a Friend for Free" discount, for first time campers who want to give Onyahsa a try, a $10 sibling discount for each sibling registering for the same overnighter and a free overnighter, for campers that sign up for five overnight programs, the sixth one is free.

Join other campers and counselors for a weekend of awesome winter fun in the camp's heated lodges and outdoors for traditional Onyahsa activities, like sports, crafts, nature, hikes, and skits; plus special ones geared for the weather, like a snowman building contest, sledding and of course, lots of hot cocoa.

Enrollment is limited and the deadline for registering is Wednesday, Jan. 18, so register by calling Bev Lubi at 664-2802, Ext. 238, or via email at office@onyahsa.org. The camp site is located at 5411 E. Lake Road, Dewittville. The next youth camping weekend will be offered Feb. 11-12. The same discounts apply.
