WESTFIELD - On a monthly basis, Westfield Middle School honors one student at each grade level as the Student of the Month. Teachers and staff had the opportunity to nominate one student who they believed met the following criteria: Follows Westfield's Rules of Respect for staff and peers; shows outstanding effort and improvement or shows achievement and consistent high scores on tests, quizzes and projects; prepared daily to participate in all classes; serves as a positive role model for peers; demonstrates a positive attitude and good citizenship.
Three students were selected as a Student of the Month for the month of November.
The sixth-grade recipient is Madyson Abbey. In school, Madyson enjoys her math class. In her spare time, she enjoys playing soccer and spending time using her trampoline. In the future she hopes to attend college and become a nurse.
Hunter Howes received this honor for the seventh grade. In school, he enjoys his language arts class. As a hobby, he enjoys playing soccer. One goal he has for the future is to further his education and learn how to build motorcycles.
At the eighth grade level, Gillian Belcher received this award. In school, she enjoys her social studies class, especially learning about the past. Outside of the classroom Gillian enjoys many musical activities including singing in choir and playing the clarinet. In the future she hopes to attend a good college and eventually live in New York City.
