The SUNY Fredonia Presidential Search Committee has selected five finalists, each of whom will be invited to campus for a series of two-day interviews between Jan. 30 and Feb. 17.
"The committee was pleased by the significant interest of so many high-quality applicants," Search Committee Chair Frank Pagano said. "The five finalists who have been invited to campus represent a good mix of experience levels, achievement and diversity."
The five campus interviews have been scheduled for Jan. 30-31, Feb. 7-8, Feb. 9-10, Feb. 13-14 and Feb. 16-17.
Each candidate's name, current position and vitae will be released four days prior to their scheduled two-day campus interview, to ensure their confidentiality as long as possible. Those interested may visit the search website, www.fredonia.edu/president/search.asp, preceding each set of interview dates to learn more.
President Dennis L. Hefner, who is in his 16th year as leader of the SUNY Fredonia campus, previously announced his intentions to retire following the close of the 2011-12 academic year.
Dr. Hefner joined the campus in 1996 and is the longest-serving president in the history of the modern Fredonia campus.
