Wolves score 34 points in third quarter to rout Hornets

FORESTVILLE - Up 28-17 at halftime, Westfield (10-4, 7-1) used a 34-point third quarter to put the game out of reach Friday, dropping Forestville (4-11, 1-8), 73-31, in CCAA Division 3 boys' basketball action.

Austin Alonge had a game-high 26 points while adding five steals for the Wolverines. Also for Westfield, Jon Coe had 12 points, Brent Morrison chipped in with seven points and eight rebounds and Chris Weston netted eight points.

For Forestville, Nate Stott had a team-high 15 points while grabbing nine rebounds. Nate Maines added eight points in the loss and John Burgos grabbed nine boards.

Division 4

North Collins 64, Ripley 24

RIPLEY - Jared Keppel had a game-high 20 points and 10 rebounds as North Collins upended Ripley (0-13, 0-11), 64-24, in CCAA Division 4 boys' basketball action Friday night at Ripley High School.

"We were missing Kyle Hammond which would have made a little difference," Ripley head coach Dave Luder said. "He would have given us some balance."

North Collins opened up a 15-3 lead after the first quarter, before pushing its lead to 36-9 as the teams went to halftime.

"Defensively, we were solid early," Luder added. "But Keppel was too much for us to handle."

North Collins scored 14 points in each of the last two quarters while Ripley scored six and nine points, respectively.

Kyle Sherman added 10 points and seven assists while Jared Bauerlein chipped in 12 points.

For Ripley, Eric Horstman had a team-high 14 points, seven rebounds and six steals.

ECIC?Division 2

Lake Shore 51,?West Seneca East 36

WEST SENECA - The Lake Shore Eagles (4-11, 3-7) received a strong effort from sophomore Tyler Mascio in knocking off West Seneca East (1-14, 1-9), 51-36, Friday in ECIC Division 2 boys' high school basketball

Mascio knocked down four treys on his way to a game-high 17 points for the winners.

With an 11-point lead heading into the final frame, Mascio hit two 3-pointers in the opening minute to extend the lead to 17 and essentially put the game out of reach.

Ryan Spears added 10 points and Ryan Joslyn pulled down 10 rebounds for the winners.

The Eagles return to action Tuesday when they take on the Dunkirk Marauders at Silver Creek.
