Reported home invasion in city

An alleged home invasion took place in the city of Dunkirk early Saturday evening. Dunkirk Police have neither confirmed or denied the claim, but the alleged incident was reported to have taken place at 223 Lincoln Ave. If confirmed, it will be the second home invasion in the city this week.

Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office

SILVER CREEK - Around 6 p.m. Friday, deputies observed a speeding vehicle on Angell Road in the town of Hanover. The driver, Chad Brackett, 30, of Silver Creek, handed officers a non-driver ID from the state of New Mexico.

Upon investigation it was discovered that Brackett did not have a driver's license in New Mexico and that his driving privileges were suspended in New York for several failure to answer summons and failure to pay fines. Further investigation found Brackett to be in possession of two client ID's in New York state, both of which were suspended.

Brackett was charged Friday with two counts of aggravated unlicensed operation, speeding, driving unlicensed, and holding more than one New York state license. He was arraigned in the Town of Hanover Court and bail was set at $1,000 cash, $2,000 property bond. He was remanded to Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of said bail.
