Dr. Jonathan Lawrence Olson, Ph.D. passed away peacefully at his home in Palm Bay, Florida on January 31, 2012 after an
eight-month battle with cancer. He was 53 years old. Jon was surrounded by the family he adored.
Jon was born January 2, 1959 in Buffalo, New York, the son of a local contractor, Lawrence Olson and his mother, Audrey, a high school math teacher.

He was a 1977 graduate of Pine Valley High School in South Dayton. Three years after high school, he married the love of his life, Janet R. Fisher. Later, he attended Thomas Edison State College, Excelsior College, Webster University, and was posthumously awarded his Ph.D. from Northcentral University. Jon was a veteran of the United States Army, having served as a satellite communication technician from 1979 to 1987. He went on to work 13 years at Harris Corporation as a software engineer followed by work at DRS Optronics until 2007. While pursuing his Ph.D. in Business Administration, he worked as
a business process improvement consultant and a technology & business professor for DeVry University. He was also employed by MITRE Corporation as a Lead Software Systems Engineer.
Jon is survived by his beloved wife of 32 years, Janet, his sister Suzanne (Steve) Eicholtz, his two children and their spouses,
son Gary (Jennifer) Olson, and daughter Kellie (Jeremy) Winebrenner, and his grandchildren Justin, Colin, Liam, and Owen. Jon
was preceded in death by his parents. He was a warm, tender, and loving man. He will be missed.
