Scars of war live on for many

February 12, 2012
GIB SEEGERT , The OBSERVER

Editor, OBSERVER:

Another great commentary "Soldiers' actions warrant dismissal" by Paul Christopher (Feb. 6).

I can only say there are no excuses for any irate behaviors that human beings commit in life. As an ex-Marine, I was brainwashed and trained to do behaviors and to this day I still live with guilt from my tour of duty in 'Nam.

Many vets are no longer here because the pain overwhelms their mistakes as alcohol, drugs, and suicide become the only solution. Their is much irrational thinking and behaviors in a violent atmosphere of war and we as humans do very stupid things. How stupid to even take a camera shot when one of your duties is to act like a professional soldier.
