Hanover Fence Fund receives donation

Recently, representatives of Evans Bank presented a $1,000 donation to the Hanover Little League Fence project in the Town of Hanover. The league is raising funds to replace the back-field fence at the Ward Avenue, Silver Creek field. Donations for the fence fund are still being accepted at Community Bank in Silver Creek. There will be a Chicken BBQ on March 25 at the Firemen’s Club on Jackson Street, Silver Creek, starting at 11 a.m. Tickets are available from any Little League board member or by calling Caroline Mullen at 432-4002. Pinehurst ParrTee Girls
The Pinehurst ParTee Girls are getting ready to start another year of league play.

2012 Concord Babe Ruth sign ups
The 2012 Concord Babe Ruth 13-15 sign ups will be Saturday, Feb. 25 from noon-2 p.m. at the Dunkirk Recreation Center at the Chautauqua Fairgrounds.
The total cost for the 2012 season is $60 per player. Any parents interested in coaching a team for the 2012 season should contact Frank Schrantz at 646-778-2180.
Northwest Chautuaqua Soccer Club
Schedules sign ups
Area soccer players ages 8-17 (age as of Aug. 1, 2012) are invited to sign up for Northwest Chautauqua Soccer Club's Spring Travel soccer teams.
This is a competitive league and the teams practice and play home games at NorthLake Family Recreation Center in Westfield.
Four or five away games include locations such as Fredonia, Bemus Point, Eden, Randolph and Olean. Two practices per week are held and games are on Sunday afternoons during May and June. Ages 8-10 may play on Saturdays.
Sign ups will be held Wednesday, Feb. 22 and Wednesday, Feb. 29 from 6-8 p.m. at McDonald's in Westfield, Country Fair in Brocton, Meeder's Restaurant in Ripley and in the main lobby at Chautauqua Lake Central School.
There is a fee to participate, but scholarship assistance is available.

Dunkirk Varsity Baseball Spaghetti Dinner
The Dunkirk varsity baseball team will be holding a spaghetti dinner on Sunday, Feb. 26, at Moose Lodge No. 89, in Dunkirk. The dinner will run from noon-4 p.m. Tickets are $6 and can be purchased at Matt's News or from any parent of a varsity player.
Soccer Official Training
The Western New York Referee Association is looking for new officials.
The WNYRA in the southern tier is comprised of about 100 USSF Certified Soccer officials that officiate youth through adult matches.
Match officials are primarily used for covering STTSL travel games in the spring and early summer. Anyone interested in becoming a certified official and beginning a career as a professional soccer official can email southerntier@wnyreferee.org or call the local District Referee Administrator, Michael Schneider at 785-9589.

Cassadaga Valley
Area Baseball
Cassadaga Valley Little League will hold baseball, softball and T-ball sign ups Tuesday, Feb. 28 from 6 to 7:30 p.m., at the Cassadaga Community Building, located on the backside of the Fire Hall.
T-ball is available to children who turn 5-years-old before Dec. 1, 2012. Baseball is for children born prior to May 1, 2004 and on or after May 1, 1996. Softball is for girls born between 1995-2004.

Brocton-Portland
Little League sign ups
Brocton-Portland Little League will hold player registrations at the Ahira Hall Memorial Library in Brocton on Thursday, Feb. 23 from 5-7 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 25 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m., and Wednesday, Feb. 29 from 6-8 p.m.
First-time players must provide a copy of their birth certificates and all players must reside in the Brocton School District.
Cost is $25/player for T-ball (ages 4-6) and $40/player for Minor league Softball or Baseball (ages 7-9) and Major League Softball or Baseball (ages 10-12)
Information regarding Major League tryouts, fundraisers, opening day and volunteer opportunities will be available during registration.
Westfield Little League
Westfield Little League sign ups will be Tuesday, Feb. 21 from 6 to 8 p.m., at Westfield Academy and Central School cafeteria and Thursday, Feb. 23 from 6 to 8 p.m., at Eason Hall.

Westfield Baseball Chicken and Biscuit Dinner
The Westfield varsity baseball parents are sponsoring a chicken and biscuit dinner and Chinese auction Feb. 26 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Westfield Moose.
Pre-sale tickets are being sold by players on the team or at the door.
Adult meals are $9 and $7 for children.
Modified High
School Hockey
The Western New York High School Club Hockey League (WNYHSCHL) modified ice hockey program is looking for participants. To qualify, a player must have been no older than 14 years old on Aug. 31, 2011 and in seventh or eighth grade. No sixth or ninth graders, regardless of age.
The league is also looking for certified hockey coaches (at least card level 1) to coach the upcoming season.
