Silver Creek Central Middle School Students of the Month

The Silver Creek Central Middle School is proud to announce the Students of the Month for December. The students were selected based on the following criteria: strong work ethic, dependability, helpfulness, respectfulness and cooperation with others.

The sixth-grade recipients are Bryan Berek and Kennedy Swabik.

Bryan is the son of Brian and Linda Berek of Sheridan. Within school, he sings in chorus and is a member of the broadcast club and the builders club. Outside of school, he is actively involved in the Boy Scouts. He enjoys playing hockey and is interested in joining a youth hockey league. Another one of his goals is to become a volunteer firefighter for Sheridan.

Kennedy is the daughter of Angelica Parks of Dunkirk. Within school, she sings in chorus and participates in intramural basketball and cheerleading. Her favorite activities include singing and she hopes to one day sing professionally.

The seventh-grade recipients are Noah Seneca and Kaitlin Huffman.

Noah is the son of Brian and Robin Seneca of Irving. Within school, he participates on the basketball team and plans to join the lacrosse team in the spring. Outside of school, he takes Kung Fu lessons. His favorite thing to do is ride his 4-wheeler.

Kaitlin is the daughter of John Huffman and Gina Love of Silver Creek. Within school, she participates on the soccer team and plans to join the softball team in the spring. Outside of school, she participates on a youth soccer league and a youth softball league. She and a friend have also started their own book club. Her favorite activities include playing World of Warcraft, reading, writing, and playing video games. Her goal is to become an author.

The eighth grade recipients are Jakob McDaneld and Emily Malette.

Jakob is the son of Kelly and Dina McDaneld of Silver Creek. Within school, he plays the tenor saxophone for band and Jr. Jazzers and is a member of Natural Helpers. He also participates on the baseball, football, and wrestling teams. Outside of school, he participates in a youth baseball league and a youth wrestling league. His favorite activities include snowmobiling and riding his dirt bike and 4-wheeler. His goal is to one day become an architect or a band teacher.

Emily is the daughter of Donald and Margaret Close of Silver Creek and Kenneth Malette of Virginia. Within school, she is a member of the broadcast club. Outside of school, she takes dance lessons and is a member of a girl's club at her church. Her favorite activities include collecting sea glass and erasers and doing crafts. She is interested in one day becoming a meteorologist.
