The Northern Chautauqua Catholic Lady Monarch's varsity basketball team recently competed in the Notre Dame President's Day Tournament, bringing home the first-place trophy. Leading scorer for the Lady Monarch's was Quinn Bankoski, who had 27 Points while Caitlin Cybart had 23 points, Hannah Cybart 14 Points, Gabbi Allen 11 points and Dominique Valvo seven points. Pictured above at left are tournament award winners, Hannah Cybart (All-Tournament Team selection), Caitlin Cybart (Most Valuable Player) and Quinn Bankoski (All Tournament Team selection). Cybart's MVP award came with a $250 scholarship to a catholic high school of her choice. The Lady Monarch's also competed in the Nativity of our Lord Tournament recently. NCCS went 3-1 during the four-day tournament, finishing in second place. Bankoski was the leading scorer with 25 points, Caitlin Cybart had 18 points, Allen 16 points and Valvo 12 points. Results are in from HHSC's 12th meet of the season. Five swimmers attended the dual league meet, held at Orchard Park High School, on Saturday, Feb. 18.
HHSC swimmers recorded one first-place, three second-place and one third-place finish, for a total of 11 top-ten finishes at the meet.
There were two new Silver times and a total of six personal-best times achieved.
9-10 Division
Esel Ro (10) 50 freestyle, 32.65; 100 backstroke, 1:23.13; Kaelyn Zebraski (10) 200 freestyle, 2:49.58 (SILVER); 100 freestyle 1:18.91.

Football Officials to Hold Annual Classes
The Southwestern Chapter of Certified Football Officials will hold its annual football officiating classes starting Tuesday, March 6. The classes will be held at the Southwestern Middle School from 6-8:30 p.m., Tuesday and Thursday nights until March 29.The fee is $50 and includes books.
The classes will lead to certification to officiate varsity and sub-varsity games in Chautauqua and Cattaraugus counties.
Interested parties can register in advance by contacting Greg Moran at 499-5916, Dave Kolstee at 484-7112, Al Feser at 366-7008, or Barney Lee at 945-3457. Interested individuals can also register at the first class on March 6.
Northwest Chautauqua Soccer Club Sign-ups
Area soccer players ages 8-17-years-old as of August 1, 2012 are invited to sign up for Northwest Chautauqua Soccer Club teams for this spring's travel soccer season.
Sign-ups for this competitive program will be held Wednesday, Feb. 29 from 6-8 p.m., at McDonald's in Westfield, Meeder's Restaurant in Ripley, Country Fair in Brocton, and in the main lobby at Chautauqua Lake Central School.
Practices are held twice a week and games take place on Sunday afternoons in May and June. Practices and home games are held at NorthLake Family Recreation Center in Westfield while away games could be at such locations as Bemus Point, Fredonia, Eden, Jamestown, Randolph, or Olean. There is a fee to participate but fundraising is also held to offset costs.

Chautauqua Lake Spring Sports Meeting
All Chautauqua Lake Central School student athletes participating in a modified, junior varsity or varsity spring sport are strongly urged to attend a sports information meeting, along with their parents, at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 27 in the district auditorium.
Coaches will review a variety of topics, including season expectations, requirements and other pertinent information. All required athletic forms will be handed out and can be completed at the meeting. The sports information meeting is an opportunity to ask questions and obtain information about the season.

The Pinehurst ParTee Girls are getting ready to start another year of league play.

Soccer Official Training
The Western New York Referee Association is looking for new officials.
The WNYRA in the southern tier is comprised of about 100 USSF Certified Soccer officials that officiate youth through adult matches.
Match officials are primarily used for covering STTSL travel games in the spring and early summer. Anyone interested in becoming a certified official and beginning a career as a professional soccer official can email southerntier@wnyreferee.org or call the local District Referee Administrator, Michael Schneider at 785-9589.
