Concord Babe Ruth Registration
2012 Concord Babe Ruth final sign ups will be Saturday, March 3 from 12-2 p.m. at the Dunkirk Recreation Center at the Chautauqua County Fairgrounds.

Norman Yonkers’ Karate Connection MMA Academy’s Grappling Team traveled to Slippery Rock, Pa. on Feb. 18 for the Rock Solid 2012 Challenge. The team competed in various age and weight groups in the No-Gi Tournament. The grappling team trains in Gokor Chivichyan’s Hayastan Grappling System under Norman Yonkers. Their next tournaments will be to North Carolina in March and then to the annual Norman Yonkers’ NYS Grappling Championship held April 14 at Fredonia High School. Dunkirk Little League Registration
Registration for the 2012 Dunkirk Little League season will be held Sunday, March 4 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Dunkirk Recreation Center at the Chautauqua County Fairgrounds.
The cost is $40 per player for baseball, softball and T-ball.
A parent or guardian must accompany all players to registration. All new players must present a State-certified birth certificate. Hospital and baptismal certificates are not acceptable. This is the last registration. Any new player that is signing up for softball or baseball major league will have to try out, so they will need to bring a glove.

Hanover Little League
Last-chance registration for the 2012 Hanover Little League season will be Saturday, March 3, from 9-10 a.m., in Silver Creek Central High School cafeteria. The cost is $40 per player for baseball, softball and T-ball.
Any new baseball player aged 9 or older must bring baseball a glove and proper footwear, and be able to attend the tryout to be held on March 3, at 10 a.m., in the Silver Creek Central Elementary School gym. All new players must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Jackson Center
to show Miracle
Miracle, the inspiring story of Herb Brooks, the coach who led the 1980 U.S. Olympic hockey team to victory over the seemingly invincible Russian squad will be shown Wednesday, March 7 at 7 p.m. at the Robert H. Jackson Center in Jamestown. The movie will be shown free of charge as a community service project of the Chautauqua Sports Hall of Fame.
Jim Riggs, sports editor for The Post-Journal, will introduce the film. Riggs witnessed the historic game in Lake Placid and will share his memories of the event.
Football Officials to Hold Annual Classes
The Southwestern Chapter of Certified Football Officials will hold its annual football officiating classes starting Tuesday, March 6. The classes will be held at the Southwestern Middle School from 6-8:30 p.m., Tuesday and Thursday nights until March 29.The fee is $50 and includes books.
The classes will lead to certification to officiate varsity and sub-varsity games in Chautauqua and Cattaraugus counties.

FSU Boys' High School Indoor Soccer Tournament
The Fredonia State Boys' High School Indoor Soccer Tournament being held Sunday, March 11, has just three spots left to fill its 16-team field.

The Pinehurst ParTee Girls are getting ready to start another year of league play.

Soccer Official Training
The Western New York Referee Association is looking for new officials.
The WNYRA in the southern tier is comprised of about 100 USSF Certified Soccer officials that officiate youth through adult matches.
Match officials are primarily used for covering STTSL travel games in the spring and early summer. Anyone interested in becoming a certified official and beginning a career as a professional soccer official can email southerntier@wnyreferee.org or call the local District Referee Administrator, Michael Schneider at 785-9589.

Spaghetti Dinner
NCCYHA annual spaghetti dinner will be held Sunday, March 4 from 11:30 a.m. til 4:30 p.m., at the Fredonia Beaver Club. The food will be prepared by "Chubbs" Fadale.
The event will include a 50/50 drawing, Chinese auction and an appearance by the Jamestown Ironmen.
Dinners are $7 and include spaghetti dinner with salad, bread, dessert and drinks. All proceeds will benefit local youth hockey.
