Arch funds still coming

March 2, 2012
The OBSERVER

Funds to preserve the historic arch in the village of Brocton continue to roll in.

During a recent board meeting an honor roll of sorts was recognized for those helping in the cause for the restoration. Some of those named included Bill and Janice Hipwell, Larry and Roxanne McFadden, Harvest Chapel Free Methodist Church; the Portland Fire Company; Delana Gilbert; E & M Engineers & Surveyors; and Trustee Dave Hazleton and his wife Nancy.

"I'm glad to see donations coming in from our folks in Portland and thank them so much for this since the arch was originally put up to designate the first 100 years of the town of Portland. I thank all of our donors so very much, and we are getting closer to meeting our goal," stated Brocton Mayor J. Dale Abram.

The funds are needed for a matching grant that the village has received. There's still time for others to donate. For more information, check with the village clerk at 792-4169.
