Twenty years ago - 1992

Forestville Central High School participated in the 44th annual Model United Nations Day sponsored by the Buffalo Council on World Affairs Inc. Forestville students from grades 9-12 represented the countries of Canada and Greece. About 25 schools from Western New York and Canada took part. This is Forestville's third year of participation and they are one of only two schools from Chautauqua County to take part. The event was held at Daemen College in Buffalo.

Thirty years ago - 1982

The appointment of J. Stuart Wilson as president of the Fred Koch Brewery has been formally announced by John Koch, chairman of the company. The new president and his family moved to this area from Edinburgh, Scotland, last year. He said that of all the moves his family has made, this was probably the most pleasant. "And that is mostly due to the welcome given by the local people who made the transition from one country to another so much easier," he said.

Forty years ago - 1972

Marden E. Cobb of Fredonia has been elected chairman of the Chautauqua County Planning Board. He also serves as chairman of three other planning boards.

Fifty years ago - 1962

Bruce Ward, son of Mrs. Ellen C. Ward, 207 Dove St., Dunkirk has been selected as the Outstanding Teenager of the Week. He is a senior at Dunkirk Industrial High School.
