Gas prices fall across state

Average retail gasoline prices in New York have fallen 0.4 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $3.97/g Sunday.

This compares with the national average that has increased 3.8 cents per gallon in the last week to $3.75/g, according to gasoline price website NewYorkStateGasPrices.com.

Including the change in gas prices in New York during the past week, prices Sunday were 23.6 cents per gallon higher than the same day one year ago and are 15.2 cents per gallon higher than a month ago.

Dunkirk C of C directors to meet on Wednesday

The Dunkirk Chamber of Commerce board of directors will meet at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the conference room of City Hall.

Topics to be discussed include community awards, reaching out to the business community and an upcoming Business After Hours event that will be taking place at Rookie's on March 28.

Interested businesses and community members are welcome to attend.

Fredonia-Pomfret Rec Department announces Spring Open Swim

The Fredonia High School Pool will hold open swim meetings Saturdays from March 17 to May 5 from 9 to 11 a.m.

Open swim is free of charge to all village and town residents.

Cassadaga Job Corps will host tour and informational meeting

A tour and informational session will be held at the Cassadaga Job Corps Academy, 8115 Glasgow Road, Cassadaga Thursday at 10 a.m.

NCSA registrations March 21 and 24

Northern Chautauqua Soccer Association will hold registrations on March 21 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Holy Trinity on Central Avenue in Dunkirk and on March 24 from 9 a.m. to noon at Fredonia High School Cafeteria.

Brain Awareness Week classes set

The Alzheimer's Associa-tion, Western New York Chapter will hold special programming for Brain Awareness Week (BAW) March 12-18 throughout WNY.

Each session will feature Power Your Memory classes - Food for Thought, Memory Tips, and What Research Suggests.

BAW programming will be held in Jamestown Thursday from 1 to 3 p.m. at Jamestown Community Col-lege, Jamestown Campus, Carnahan Building, 525 Falconer St., Jamestown.

The program titled "Power Your Memory: What Research Suggests" will be presented.

The program is $10 per person and open to the general public.

Spring chicken BBQ Sunday in Collins

The Collins Center Volunteer Fire Company is holding a Spring Chicken BBQ at 3514 Main St., Route 39 in Collins Center Sunday from 11:30 a.m. till sold out.

The meal includes half a barbecue chicken, macaroni salad, cole slaw, dinner roll, salt potatoes, and dessert. The cost is $9.
