March 21, 2012
The OBSERVER

SHERIDAN - Liberty Vineyards & Winery of Sheridan led New York State wineries in double gold medals at the recent Florida State Fair International Wine Competition. The winery received double gold medals for its 2010 Riesling, White Side of the Moon and Purple Haze wines. Double gold medals are awarded when there is unanimous agreement among judges that the wine merits a gold medal.

In addition to the double gold medals, the winery also received silver medals for its Fredonia and Reds, Whites & Blues wines and bronze medals for its Rufus Red and Lucy's in the Sky wines.

"We're very happy with these awards. Riesling, White Side of the Moon and Purple Haze are customer favorites, and we're glad to see them get this recognition," said Gary Burmaster, who owns the winery with his wife, Pam.
