Finally! The wide-ranging criminal odyssey of Ralph "Bucky" Phillips of Stockton was close to its end this morning. The 29-year-old career criminal who has eluded police in at least five states for the past two weeks and is believed to have stolen more than a dozen motor vehicles in the course of his flight, was apprehended in the Niagara Falls bus terminal at mid-afternoon today, not apparently trying to get away, but to return home. Arresting officers said Phllips had just purchased a bus ticket - for Jamestown.

Perpetua Wojcinski, 9-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Wojcinski, 9441 Chautauqua Road, Fredonia has been notified that she was selected as a state finalist for the second annual Miss New York National Pre Teen Pageant to be held June 5 in Johnson City (N.Y.) High School. A pupil in the Fredonia Elementary School, Perpetua is sponsored by Red Wing Co. and Farrell Chrysler-Plymouth-Dodge in Fredonia.

Heywood Hale Broun, a sports commentator for CBS television, was the guest speaker for the 68th annual Dunkirk Chamber of Commerce banquet held at Dunkirk High School.
