More praise for Forestville

March 23, 2012
The OBSERVER

Editor, OBSERVER:

A while back you printed a letter from a Forestville resident honoring people in the village who do so much for the village (March 11). The writer did not mention a couple who do far more than their share.

We would not have a Fall Festival if it were not for Carol. She and Tom were also very involved with the bicentennial. They are additionally involved in the children's Halloween and Christmas parties.

Tom built a ball field for the kids. He erected the back stop, put in the bases and pitcher's mound. He built benches for the fans, a refreshment stand and a restroom, with his own money.

The school kids had a project to earn money by cutting out wooden Christmas trees and all the ones that didn't sell he dipped in his own pocket and bought them. He also bought kids pedal tractors so they could have a contest at the Fall Festival.

I feel Tom and Carol Woodward deserve recognition.

LOIS WOODWARD,

Fredonia
