Silver Creek Middle School selects Students of the Month

SILVER CREEK - The Silver Creek Central Middle School announces the Students of the Month for January. The students were selected based on the following criteria: strong work ethic, dependability, helpfulness, respectfulness and cooperation with others.

The sixth-grade recipients are Alex Bogosian and Natalie Fix.

Alex is the son of Matt and Karen Bogosian of Silver Creek. Within school, he sings in chorus, plays the baritone in band and plays the bass guitar in the Jr. Jazzers. He also participates in intramural basketball and is a member of the Science and Technology Club. Outside of school, he participates on a youth baseball league and is a member of the band IMORTAL. His favorite activities include playing music and participating in sports. His goal is to one day become a rock star or a gym teacher.

Natalie is the daughter of Michael Fix of Silver Creek and the late Danielle Fix. Within school, she sings in chorus, plays the saxophone in both band and Jr. Jazzers, and participates in intramural basketball, swimming, and volleyball. Outside of school she participates on a youth softball league. Her favorite activities include hanging out with friends, going to the Backline, practicing her saxophone and texting. She is interested in one day becoming involved in cancer research.

The seventh-grade recipients are Billy Seiders and Kiona Lahnen.

Billy is the son of Bill and Amy Seiders of Silver Creek. Within school, he sings in chorus and he participates on the football, baseball and wrestling teams. Outside of school, he participates in youth wrestling, football, and baseball leagues. His favorite activities include riding his bike, skiing, and spending time outdoors. He hopes to one day become a dentist.

Kiona is the daughter of Thomas and Tammy Lahnen of Silver Creek. Within school, she participates on the soccer team, sings in chorus and is a member of the Black Knight Academy. Outside of school, she is actively involved in the Girl Scouts. Her favorite activities include riding her bike, playing sports with her two brothers, gardening, drawing and playing video games. Her goal is to become a pilot in the U.S. Marine Corps.

The eighth-grade recipients are Jacob Mullen and Katelyn Whitford.

Jacob is the son of Kern and Amy Mullen of Silver Creek. Within school, he plays the baritone saxophone for band and Jr. Jazzers. He also participates on the cross country and track teams. Outside of school, he takes karate lessons and participates in a youth baseball league. His favorite activities include playing sports, reading, and cooking. His goal is to become a teacher or to own his own restaurant. Katelyn is the daughter of Jason and Hazel Morrison of Silver Creek. Within school, she participates on the soccer and cross country teams, is a member of the Natural Helpers and is the president of the Builders Club. Outside of school, her favorite activities include drawing, designing clothes, studying living things, and hanging out with her friends. She is interested in one day becoming a veterinarian.
