Vote results are tainted

March 25, 2012
The OBSERVER

If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it's a duck.

If you live in Sinclairville - where only eight people voted - and the village election officer's husband has three write-in votes for two seats that were originally unopposed, it looks like a conflict of interest.

There is no way around it.

Because of this, James Kianos must withdraw his name from consideration for trustee. If he does not, it will be a tarnished election knowing his spouse, Darla Frost-Kianos, oversees the election.

She also knows - while the polling station is open - just how many people have walked through the doors during the day.

On that day, you need only two hands to count the number of voters.

Little traffic, three write-in votes and one wife involved in the mix. Looks like a quack election - and definitely a conflict of interest.
