SOUTH DAYTON - Jeremy Sanders, 31, of Second Street was charged with second-degree assault Sunday following an incident at Rough Kutts Bar the previous night. He was taken to Town of Dayton Court for arraignment and was remanded to the Cattaraugus County Jail in lieu of $200.

SINCLAIRVILLE - Shawn A. Cavender, 42, of Cassadaga was charged with first-degree felony criminal contempt onThursday.

Deputies were in the village of Sinclairville attempting to serve a warrant on Cavender. Prior to their arrival, Cavender allegedly fled on foot. Deputies and K-9 Drago were doing foot patrol when K-9 Drago indicated on a person who was identified as Cavender attempted to take off on foot. He was given warnings to stop or the K9 would take chase.

Cavender surrendered and taken into custody. He was remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail.

ELLERY - On March 19 at approximately 12:30 a.m., Jason Haskin, 38, of Pest Road, Bemus Point, was charged with endangering the welfare of a child and second-degree harassment.

The arrest occurred after deputies located Haskins, who allegedly had a physical fight with a woman in the town of Ellery in the presence of several small children, putting them at risk of harm.

RIPLEY - On Friday at approximately 9:30 p.m., Scott Connors, 21, of North East, Pa., was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and inadequate headlights after being stopped in the town of Ripley for operating a vehicle with only one working headlamp.

Upon further investigation, officers discovered Connors' license in New York State had reportedly been suspended on Dec. 23, 2008 and again on April 25, 2010. Connors was taken into custody and released with appearance tickets.
