Pedestrian injured after being hit by a vehicle

HANOVER - An Irving man who was out jogging Monday morning has been hospitalized after being hit by a vehicle.

According to state police, at about 9 a.m. Richard Miller, 47, of Versailles Road, was running along Buffalo Road in the Town of Hanover when he was struck by a vehicle. While jogging down Buffalo Road, Miller reportedly crossed the road in front of a vehicle driven by Cynthia Barber of Versailles Road. She was traveling north.

Miller was taken to Lake Shore Hospital and later flown to Erie County Medical Center by Mercy Flight. He is currently listed in critical condition. New York State Police at Fredonia are investigating. No charges have been filed at this time.

The Chautauqua County Sheriff and local fire departments provided assistance.
