One injured in Route 60 crash

One person was injured in a Dunkirk accident Wednesday at 8:45 a.m. David Greenough, 56, of Silver Creek, was westbound on Williams Street. After stopping at the intersection of Williams and Route 60, Greenough entered Route 60 and struck a vehicle operated by John Fanale, 41, of Dunkirk.

Greenough was ticketed with failure to yield to the right of way and transported to Brooks Memorial Hospital for back pain.

A two-vehicle personal injury accident occurred at the intersection of Route 60 and Williams Street Wednesday morning.

Thomas A. Brewster, 25, of Fredonia, was operating a vehicle which crossed into oncoming traffic and sideswiped another vehicle.

He was charged with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, felony driving while intoxicated (DWI), felony aggravated DWI and failure to keep right.

Brewster was shown to have a blood alcohol content of .27 percent and will appear in Town of Sheridan Court on April 19.

Four occupants from the other vehicle were transported to Brooks Memorial Hospital for minor injuries. Two others were treated at the scene.

After investigation, it was alleged Jordon Dongarra, 28, of Buffalo, was the operator and intoxicated.

Dongarra was charged with driving while intoxicated, and felony first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, unreasonable speed, failure to keep right, consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle and refusal of alcohol pre-screening.

He was arraigned in the Town of North Harmony Court and committed to Chautauqua County Jail without bail.

While investigating the accident, it was found the female passenger had an order of protection against the operator, Ryan Valentine, 25, of Dunkirk.

Valentine was issued an appearance ticket for second-degree criminal contempt.
