Twenty years ago - 1992
Coastal Advertising Federation has given its prestigious Silver Medal Award for 1992 to Matt Sedota, general manager of WNMB/B-105 radio in North Myrtle Beach, S.C. The son of Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Sedota of Water Street, Fredonia, he was formerly associated with radio station WDOE. Matt is vice president of the South Carolina Broadcasters Association.
Thirty years ago - 1982
Mrs. Eloise Heyl of Dunkirk was honored at a surprise reception hosted by the Cardinal Mindszenty Association. The tribute to the former art/dance teacher was held at Mindszenty House on Central Avenue, decorated for the occasion in Irish green. William Norris, CMA president, presented her with a plaque and honorary membership in the association. Entertainment featured two former dance pupils, Mary Lou Lasecki and Gail Bekeleski, who performed a ballet to the music of "Hooked on Classics."

James Townsend, administrator of Westfield Hospital for 15 years, has announced his forthcoming retirement on July 1.
