The Brocton American Legion Auxiliary will host a Chicken & Ribs Dinner today, from noon until sold out at the Brocton Legion, 110 W. Main St. in Brocton. The dinner includes chicken, ribs, red potatoes, baked beans, bread, cookie and beverage for $8. Tickets are currently available at the Legion and at the door the day of the event. Proceeds will go to the Brocton Arch Project and community projects.
The public is welcome.

Chautauqua Sports Hall of Fame to Screen Rudy
Rudy, the inspiring true story of Daniel "Rudy" Ruettiger, who had always been told he was too small to play college football, but was determined to overcome the odds and fulfill his dream of playing for Notre Dame will be shown Wednesday 7 at p.m. at the Robert H. Jackson Center in Jamestown. The movie will be shown free of charge as a community service project of the Chautauqua Sports Hall of Fame.
Jim Roselle, WJTN radio personality and Notre Dame fan, will introduce the movie.

Just a reminder starting today, April 1, customers of P&G Foods and Save-A-Lot will face fines and or jail time if they take a shopping cart from the premises.
Local Red Cross chapter seeks volunteers for blood program
Do you find yourself with 2-3 hours to spare a month? Are you looking to interact with your neighbors and friends while doing something worthwhile at the same time? Consider joining the American Red Cross team. The Southwestern NY Chapter of the American Red Cross is looking for volunteers to help with the blood program in the Chautauqua County area.
Volunteers are needed for the Fralick Donation Center, located at 325 E. 4th St. in Jamestown, as well as at various mobile blood drives in many Chautauqua County communities. Responsibilities include helping blood donors register and serving refreshments to the donors after they donate in the "canteen" areas. Most volunteer shifts are between 2-3 hours long. Jamestown Police now on Facebook
The Jamestown Police Department now has an official webpage on Facebook and it can be found at www.facebook.com/jamestownpolicedepartment. The page can be used to view photos of subjects with felony warrants, view press releases or to access information about leaving an anonymous tip. Private messages or tips can also be left on this page and members of the department will monitor the information on a daily basis.
The department's tip line can be utilized at any time for anyone to leave a tip at 483-TIPS (8477). Tips on this line can be left anonymously or the caller can leave their name and number to be contacted by an officer or an investigator at a later date.
Cassadaga Valley Central School to hold budget and board vote
The annual budget vote for the Cassadaga Valley Central School District will be held on May 15 from 2 to 8 p.m.
In addition, voters will elect a candidate for one board of education seat. This is a five-year term from July 1 through June 30, 2017. The incumbent is William Carlson. Carlson has stated his intent to seek re-election. Petitions are available in the District Clerk's Office Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day other than Saturday, Sunday or holiday.
Petitions fulfilling the requirements of Section 2018 of the Education Law nominating candidates must be filed with the clerk of the district by April 13.
