Twenty years ago - 1992

Introduced last September, the School Breakfast Program at Brocton Central School, has proven to be a success with 170 breakfasts served on a daily basis to a school population of 965 K-12 students. Brocton is one of three school districts in Chautauqua County offering breakfasts, the others being Westfield and Ripley. A fourth, Pine Valley, is in the process of applying for the program.

Thirty years ago - 1982

The birth of four baby goats, a rare occurrence, took place recently at the property of James and Karen Tilley of Empire Road in Forestville. The "kids," three nannies and one buck, were the product of a first litter that usually produces one or two "kids." Enjoying the unusual event are the Tilley children, Kim, 8, and Jamie, 6.

Forty years ago - 1972

Groundbreaking for a new home for the Buffalo Bills of the National Football League will take place soon now that the Erie County Legislature has awarded contracts for the 80,000-seat stadium. The suburban Orchard Park football-only facility will replace War Memorial Stadium, built during the Depression years, as the home of the NFL Club.

Fifty years ago - 1962

Dr. John B. Shutt has been appointed pathologist and director of laboratories at Brooks Memorial Hospital.
