SILVER CREEK - Elizabeth "Betsy" M. Teachman, 67, of Hanover Road, Silver Creek, died Saturday, April 14, at TLC/HN-Lake Shore Hospital, Irving, fol-lowing a brief illness. She was born in Dunkirk on September 3, 1944, the daughter of the late David Joseph and Irene (Addington) Knight.
She attended Dunkirk School #5 and started work in 1975 as a Developmental Aide and LPN for the former JN Adam Hospital, Perrysburg and WNYDDSO in Fredonia, for 27 years, retiring in March 2003. Mrs. Teachman was also an EMT, at-tended St. Joseph RC Church, Fredonia, was a member of Dunkirk Moose Lodge #89 and Samuel Cimino VFW Post #6472, Silver Creek. She also volunteered for many local organizations and loved traveling, bingo, crocheting and pets.
Survivors include her husband Charles H. Teachman of Silver Creek, whom she married on June 29, 1985, in Silver Creek; two daughters, Mari (Keith) Frederickson, of Silver Creek and Darlene Espersen, of Dunkirk; two sons Robert (Roberta) Deet, Jr., of San Jose, Illinois, Raymond (Hazel) Deet, of Silver Creek, two step daughters, Teri (Michael) Weinheimer, of Sheridan, Pat (Ted) Duffield, of Temple, Texas, a step son, Andy Teachman, of Kentucky and a brother, David (Linda) Knight, of Dunkirk. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Friends are welcome to call at the Riles & Woolley Funeral Home, 39 Main Street, Forestville on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m., from where Funeral Services will be held Wednesday morning at 11 o'clock, with Rev. Charles J. Zadora, pastor of St. Joseph RC Church, Fredonia, officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Lawn Cemetery, Town of Hanover.
