FORESTVILLE - Ray-mond L. Kirkland, 80, of Quarry Road, Forestville, died Tuesday, April 17, 2012 peacefully in his sleep at home. He was born in West Seneca on June 16, 1931, the son of the late Lee and Catherine (Esser) Kirkland.
He served in the U.S. Army as a Corporal in the Korean War and received a Purple Heart. He worked as an Iron Worker for Union Local #6 in Buffalo. He lived in Forestville for 30 years, loved the outdoors and his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Patricia M. (Nowak) Kirkland of Forestville; two sons, Mark Kirkland of Forestville, Matthew Kirkland of Virginia; two sisters, Marion Frederickson, Rita, and two brothers, Howard and Marty Kirkland. Also surviving are 3 grandchildren, 1 great grandson and several nieces & nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by a brother, Robert Kirkland and by 2 sisters Dolores Sjyka & Joan.
There will be no visitation or services observed.
