Gowanda Police Department

Dennis P. Strader Jr., 39, of Cattaraugus was charged with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration and no insurance on March 21. Strader was charged following a traffic stop on West Main Street where a DMV computer check revealed his registration was suspended on Jan. 31 for no insurance. He was released on an appearance ticket to appear in the Town of Persia Court and his vehicle was towed.

Seneca Mohawk, 34, of Brant was arrested on an arrest warrant on March 22 for a charge of criminal trespass and criminal possession of stolen property. Gowanda Police, with assistance from the New York State Police and Cattaraugus Nation Marshals, responded to Mohawk's residence to serve the warrant. A baggie containing a quantity of crack cocaine was thrown from the rear door of the residence while the warrant was being served. Mohawk was arraigned in the Town of Persia Court and remanded to the Cattaraugus County Jail in lieu of $850. New York State Police are pursuing further charges for the drugs recovered.

Jared P. Black, 32, South Dayton was charged with felony criminal mischief on March 23. At 4:30 a.m. on March 21, patrol responded to the report of a brick being thrown through the window at Jubilee Foods in the village. Through an investigation, it was found Black had caused this damage. He was released on an appearance ticket for the Town of Collins Court.

Brian K. Stevens, 35, of Maple Avenue was charged with trespass on April 4. Patrol responded to a village business for the report of a disturbance at 2:32 a.m. of which Stevens had been the cause. Stevens had been previously banned from this establishment for causing a disturbance in the past. He was released on an appearance ticket for the Town of Collins Court.

Nicole R. Peters, 21, of Buffalo Street was charged with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration on April 4. At 12:40 p.m. Peters was stopped by patrol on Jamestown Street for a traffic violation. A DMV computer check revealed the registration had been suspended on April 1 for an insurance lapse; however Peters currently did have insurance. She was released on an appearance ticket for the Town of Persia Court.

Edgar A. Lewis, 18, of Route 438 was charged with second-degree harassment and criminal obstruction of breathing on April 4. Patrol responded to the report of a domestic incident with two subjects fighting in the middle of Torrence Avenue at 10:30 p.m. Patrol responded to discover a verbal argument between Lewis and a female acquaintance had escalated into a physical altercation. Lewis had allegedly thrown the female down and was choking her while kneeling down. He was released on an appearance ticket for the Town of Persia Court.

Zachery J. Raichlin 22, of Cattaraugus was charged with an arrest warrant on April 5 for failure to appear in court. Raichlin turned himself in at the Gowanda Police Department. He was arraigned in the Town of Persia Court and was released on his own recognizance.

Summer R. Pullen, 21, of Buffalo Street was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and license plate violation on April 9. Pullen was operating a vehicle stopped by patrol on Buffalo Street at 11:30 p.m. A DMV computer check revealed Pullen's license had been suspended on Feb. 13 for failure to appear in court. She was released on an appearance ticket to appear in the Town of Collins Court.

Chad J. Stevens Jr., 20, of Brant was charged with criminal possession of marijuana on April 15. Patrol responded to the report of a suspicious vehicle on West Main Street in the parking lot behind the library. Patrol discovered Stevens was one of the passengers in this vehicle and possessed a baggie containing marijuana. Stevens was released on an appearance ticket for the Town of Persia Court.
