Blessed Mary Angela Holy Rosary

The Blessed Mary Angela Holy Rosary Society met recently at St. Hyacinth's Lyceum.

President Martha Bialaszewski and officers led members in the recitation of the Rosary and prayers for ill and deceased members.

The opening prayer for the meeting was given by Betty Kern.

Secretary Carole Schiller read the minutes of the March meeting and Treasurer Lucille Bartkowski the March financial report. Both were accepted by all present.

No birthdays were celebrated. Pat Kokocinski reported the illness of Rosalie Kuzdzal, and Nathalie Kolasa was the winner of the attendance prize.

Bialaszewski gave a report on the luncheon card party to be held on Wednesday, May 6 at 12:30 p.m. in St. Hedwig's Social Center. Call 366-0935 with reservations.

Members were also told a pot-luck dinner will be held on Saturday, April 28 in the St. Hyacinth Lyceum after the 4 p.m. Mass.

A Divine Mercy Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Sunday followed by a chaplet and Benediction. A social hour will be held at the church hall.

The closing prayer was read by Rose Gawronski.

Next month's meeting will be held on May 7 at 7 p.m. at the St. Hedwig's Social Center.

Members received hand-crafted Easter eggs and Easter cakes were served on decorated tables. The refreshment committee included Nancy Woloszyn, Mary Dworak, Alvina Monahan, Kolasa, Florence Marut and Stella Michalak.

Holy Trinity Seniors

Holy Trinity Seniors recently met in the Parish Center. President Rita Lombardo opened the meeting with the Lord's Prayer, which members recited with her. She then read a poem entitled "His Gifts."

Secretary Josie Wierczynski read the minutes of the previous meeting. They were accepted as read. Lombardo read the financial report. It was accepted unanimously.

Treasurer Doris La Spada gave members receipts for the brick for the Serenity Garden. It will be inscribed with "Holy Trinity Seniors 2011."

Kathy Damiano brought a guest: Janice Kyte.

La Spada suggested the club plan some trips for the coming months. Suggestions included the historical museum on July 1, the Jello Factory in Leroy, the lighthouse, the communion Sunday Seniors in September and a July picnic.

These suggestions were well-received by members and they will be planned in the coming months.

The next meeting will be on Thursday, May 10 in the Parish Center.

Lenny Catalano will be having trips. Call him if interested at 366-3941.

Seniors enjoyed their bag luncheon. Lombardo baked a cake, Catalano and Bert brought cookies.

The refreshment committee for the next meeting will be Damiano and Edna Sek.

Damiano suggested a salad bar luncheon.

Damiano gave a lecture on nutrition. She discussed the most nutritious food the group should eat. She also brought samples which she gave to some members.
