Dunkirk man charged after investigation
A city man is being held following a narcotics investigation Thursday evening. Nestor Reyes, 33, of 13 West Lake Shore Dr. was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, both class B felonies.
Dunkirk Police arrested Reyes at 8:35 p.m. Thursday at his residence on a City of Dunkirk Court arrest warrant. The warrant was based on information provided by members of the Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force officers. It is alleged by task force officers that Reyes has been selling quantities of cocaine from his residence. This investigation has been ongoing for the past several months. As a result of this investigation, additional charges will be filed. The investigation is continuing.

The investigation was helped by information provided by members of the community. Authorities continue to ask anyone with narcotics related information to call either the Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force or the city of Dunkirk Police Department.
Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office
MAYVILLE The Sheriff's office has recovered several newer model bicycles in the Cassadaga and Brocton areas. Anyone who has lost a bike and not reported it may contact the office at 753-4967 with a description of the bike. Any bikes properly identified will be returned.
HANOVER On Wednesday around 6 p.m., a Hanover youth was charged with criminal mischief and other charges.
Deputies as well as Silver Creek Police Department and New York State Police responded to an address on Route 5 and 20 in Hanover for the report of a disorderly person.
Investigation into the incident resulted in a 16-year-old male being charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief, second-degree menacing, fourth-degree possession of a weapon, and second-degree harassment after he allegedly punched a victim and threatened the victim with a dangerous instrument. The youth also allegedly damaged some property that did not belong to him.
The suspect was arraigned and committed to the Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of bail.
Fredonia Police Department
Matthew S. Goodwin, 31, of St. Hedwig's Avenue, Dunkirk was charged with driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated per se and following too closely on April 7. Goodwin hit another car who was turning right on Bennett Road at 1:33 a.m. Officers observed slurred speech, bloodshot eyes and an odor of intoxicants coming from Goodwin. He was found to have a BAC of .21. He was released on an appearance ticket.
Ryan J. Mulkin, 30, of South Roberts Road, Dunkirk was charged with driving while intoxicated, resisting arrest and operating a motor vehicle with a BAC of .08. At 12:24 a.m. police observed him speeding on Chautauqua Street. When police attempted to pull Mulkin over, he continued driving and then fled on foot. He was found to have a BAC of .17. He was released on cash bail.
