NORTH HARMONY - A Stow man has died after he apparently suffered a medical condition that led to his vehicle going into Chautauqua Lake.

Chautauqua County sheriff's deputies report Mark T. Swanson, 64, died after his car went off Stow Ferry Road at the Bemus Point-Stow Ferry launch around 5:43 this morning. The vehicle traveled 40 feet beyond the ferry and into the lake into 4 feet of water. Swanson was removed from the vehicle and taken to WCA Hospital in Jamestown where he was pronounced dead.

The accident remains under investigation. The Ashville Fire Department, Bemus Point Fire Department and county's Water Emergency Team also responded to the scene.
