MAYVILLE - The Chautauqua County Legislature and the Water Quality Task Force announces that applications for the 2012 Lakes and Waterways Bed Tax Grant funding are now available.
This grant offers financial assistance to various groups and organizations including; not-for-profit, government, businesses and corporations, public and private schools, and all landowners of Chautauqua County.
The purpose of this grant is to provide funding for the enhancement and protection of the lakes and waterways of Chautauqua County. Water is an important economic resource for our county and as the demand for water grows we are continuously faced with increased challenges for improving the quality and availability of this vital resource.
Funding for these grants are provided through the 2 percent occupancy or "bed tax" solely dedicated to water resources within the county. Applications are due by June 1.
