Dunkirk Chamber meets on Wednesday

The Dunkirk Chamber of Commerce is holding a board meeting Wednesday at JCC North in Room 115 at 4 p.m. All members and non-members of the chamber are welcome to attend.

The group will discuss its Music on the Pier sponsorship and hear from county representatives regarding tourism initiatives.

Cattaraugus County Property Auction

The annual Cattaraugus County Property Auction will be held May 19 at the Cattaraugus-Little Valley School, 207 Rock City Road, Little Valley, beginning at 9:15 a.m. Doors open at 8 a.m. Over 80 parcels will be offered for sale.

An informational meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at the County Center, third floor Legislative Chambers, in Little Valley to review the properties being auctioned.

A listing of the properties up for auction is available on the county website www.cattco.org. You may also pre-register and print your bidder number to avoid waiting in line at the auction.

Gas prices fall

Average retail gasoline prices in Rochester have fallen 4.1 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $4.00/g Sunday. This compares with the national average that has fallen 2.9 cents per gallon in the last week to $3.77/g.

Cattaraugus center closed today

The Little Valley County Center is closed to the public today due to water damage.

Cassadaga Job Corps will host tour and informational meeting

A tour and informational session will be held at the Cassadaga Job Corps Academy, 8115 Glasgow Road in Cassadaga Thursday at 10 a.m. Anyone interested in learning more about Job Corps, the programs they offer and about life on campus is welcome to attend. Job Corps provides young people, age 16-24, with career technical training and the education needed to enter a career in a high demand occupation. Applicants must meet federal admissions criteria for income and readiness. All students accepted attend Job Corps on a full scholarship and must remain committed to a rigorous education and training program to remain enrolled. Cassadaga Job Corps offers training in the healthcare and construction industries and enrolls both residential and non-residential students from throughout Chautauqua County.
