Dunkirk Little League Picture Day scheduled

The Following is a list for all the teams and when their team photo is scheduled for.

Picture day is slated for Saturday, May 19.

9:00 a.m.: E.D.F.F., Kosciuszko Club (Girls Major) and Nathan George (Girls Major).

9:20 a.m.: Dom Polski (Boys Minor), Dunkirk Falcons and Nathan George (Boys Minor).

9:40 a.m.: Western Division Credit Union, Moniuszko Club and One Stop Food Mart.

10:00 a.m.: Conservation Club, Ellie's Deli and Lakeside Club.

10:20 a.m.: Firefighter Local 616 (T-Ball) and Dom Polski (T-Ball).

10:40 a.m.: USWA Local 2693 and Moose Club.

11:00 a.m.: Lake Shore Savings, Local 912 and Kosciuszko Club (Girls Minor).

11:20 a.m.: Firefighter Local 616 (Boys Major) and Kosciuszko Club (Boys Major).

11:40 a.m.: 1st Ward Falcons, Exempts Club.

Noon: Lucky Lanes and Police.

Teams should be at the field 15 minutes early.

Fall date set for Cummins Run

Cummins Inc., Jamestown Engine Plant, will sponsor its sixth annual 5K run/walk to benefit the Prendergast Library Literacy Center, but the event has been postponed from spring to fall.

Saturday, Sept. 29, is the date chosen to accommodate availability of timers. The event has previously been held on the Saturday of Mother's Day weekend.

Golf Group meeting

There will be a final meeting on Wednesday, May 16 at 7 p.m. at the Dunkirk Falcon Club for the Stahoo Golf Group. Foursomes will be picked for each day, program books will be given out, fees collected and travel arrangements will be finalized. Anyone unable to make the meeting should have their roommate pick up their program.

Pinehurst

Pinehurst ParTee Girls - The low gross scores for the evening went to Lynn LaMattina 51, Pat Thompson 52 and Lori Foster and Tammy Ahrens with 54. Ahrens also had the low net of 29, followed by Jill Muck and Bert Vilardo (31) and Trudy Gollnitz (32).

The longest drive (No. 5) went to Amy North, Patty Petrella had the longest putt (No. 3) and closest to the pin (No. 7) went to Lynn LaMattina.

Hillview

Nine women of The Women Who Golf For Fun shot a practice round Wednesday at Hillview. Tied with low score was Linda Hodorowicz and Pat Kaus. Coming in second was another tie between Bobbi Deering and Carol Kowalewski. A pizza lunch followed golf. The woman will play again next Wednesday meeting at 9:30 a.m., teeing off at 10 a.m. League play will begin on Wednesday June 6. Eden-North Collins 0

With only two returning players from last year's championship team, the Concord squad controlled play start to finish. Scoring for Concord were Nelmy Robles, Max Condoyannis and Antonio Robles. Earning assists were Condoyannis, Devin Drummond and Brandon Birner.

Goalkeeper Ben Turner had the clean sheet. Nelmy Robles was awarded the games STAR award for sportsmanship. Defender Christian Michalski and midfielder Marco Vega had strong games.

Concord hosts Bradford (Pa.) in its next contest Sunday at 1 p.m. on the Dunkirk High School turf field.

U-17 Girls

NC Concord 5, Northwest (Westfield) 1

Scoring for the Concord Ladies were Jessica Gifford (2), Morgan Genovese (2) and Hannah Gilray (1). Earning assists were Gifford (1), Gilray (2) and Kaycee Liberator (2). Goalkeeper Aleyna Szot had just one top corner shot from Northwest's Emily Corwin, slip by.

Sweeper Emily MacKinnon was awarded the STAR patch by the Northwest team. Defender's Kirsta Wheelock and Kyle Bentley also displayed strong support in the game.

The ladies of Concord will host FAST (Falconer) on Sunday, May 13 at 6:30 p.m., on their home turf at Dunkirk High School.
