FALCONER - Kevin Holmes was a one-man wrecking crew as Dunkirk (10-6, 6-2) defeated Falconer, 11-3, Thursday in CCAA Division 1 baseball.
Holmes earned the win on the mound with a solid five-inning effort. He allowed just two earned runs on four hits and struck out three.
He didn't stop there.
At the plate, Holmes kick-started the offense with a two-run double in the second inning and finished with three hits and four RBIs.
"I'm very happy for Kevin," Dunkirk coach Frank Jagoda said of Holmes. "He's really coming around on the mound and at the plate."
Clayton Ciesliewicz finished the game on the mound for the Marauders and struck out three over his two innings. He also added three hits to the offensive attack, including an RBI single in the first inning and an RBI double in the sixth.
"Clayton continued his hot hitting," Jagoda added. "We also stole five bases. We were aggressive on the bases."
Dan Williamson and Gibson Stuart split pitching duties for Falconer.
Kevin Burns, Josh Mleczko and Ryan Ruiz each added RBI hits for Dunkirk while Max Schrantz walked three times and scored three runs.

"It was good to get a win after a tough loss to Olean (Wednesday)," Jagoda continued. "I'm glad we weren't discouraged and we came out and played the way we needed to."
